Certificate Programs
Academic departments at SPSU may select to develop academic
credit certificate programs that support SPSU’s mission by
providing university-level education. Each program shall clearly
support the academic plan and address at least one of the
President’s priorities of increasing SPSU’s visibility, enrollment
and resources.
Certificate programs may enhance the University’s programming
by:
 providing
“bridge” programs to existing or new degrees,
providing
career transition opportunities,
offering
professional continuing education to selected professions,
and/or
responding to industry-identified needs for retraining.
A certificate program may be established as a permanent
offering of the institution, or as a temporary offering to
address a special need over a limited period.
